The brick manufacturing industry in Iran comprises approximately7,000 active production units, with a nominal annual production capacity exceeding 50 million tons. The level of air pollution generated by these operating units is therefore highly significant. This study presents an integrated approach for the simultaneous analysis of energy consumption patterns and the optimal selection of filtration systems aimed at reducing gaseous and particulate emissions from industrial kilns. The proposed approach combines energy assessment, identification of critical pollutants, and environmental risk analysis, thereby enabling informed decision-making under both normal operating conditions and emergency scenarios.Within the framework of passive defense and industrial resilience, inefficient filtration systems not only lead to increased energy consumption and operational costs, but may also result in sudden and uncontrolled pollutant releases during emergency conditions, such as increased production loads or disruptions in the combustion process. Accordingly, the selection of filtration technologies including bag filters, scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, and hybrid systems has been evaluated based on fuel type, pollutant composition, energy intensity, and potential crisis scenarios. The results indicate that adopting an integrated approach to energy consumption optimization can significantly reduce air pollutant emissions while simultaneously improving system energy efficiency and enhancing the resilience of industrial kilns under crisis conditions.
